Bobbie is proud to be from a family with a rich arts heritage, specifically in the visual arts and arts education. Because these artists spent more time dedicated to their artforms and their students, as opposed to promotion of their work, Bobbie hopes that their legacies, images and inspiration can continue to be shared today…

Harry Chew: Devotion to Service, Family & Art

趙華兆

Harry Chew was an abstract expressionist painter, an arts educator, a US Marine, a pioneer in arts therapy for the mentally challenged, and a devoted family man. He is my late maternal grandfather who I never had the chance to meet, but whose absence has provided one of the greatest inspirations in my own life journey. More to come on his work and life soon…

Ross Braught: Profound Images and Imagination

Ross Braught was a prolific painter, visual artist and noted arts educator. Originally from Pennsylvania, Braught spent much of his career in Kansas City and specifically at the Kansas City Arts Institute, where he served as head of the painting department for many years. Thomas Hart Benton was known to have described Braught as, “the greatest draftsman of our generation.”

Thanks to years of research, collecting and writing undertaken by Dr. Roland Sabates, an impressive compilation of Braught’s work was published in 2021, titled Ross Eugene Braught: Man of Imagination. Dr. Sabates also maintains an informative website on Braught’s legacy.

Ross Braught is Bobbie’s great-great maternal uncle.
