Climate Justice & Tourism
Starting the conversations and explorations…
From 2023-2024, Bobbie has been part of a project tasked with producing a report/white paper that explores what climate justice means in the context of tourism, as well as what climate justice can and should look like in practice. Bobbie has served as the lead author and researcher for this project together with co-authors Mr. Jeremy Smith and Dr. Freya Higgins-Desbiolles, and a collaborative team including the Travel Foundation, Cuidadores de Destinos, Tourism Cares, the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST) and Expedia Group.
Part of the research process has involved community and tourism stakeholder outreach and discussions that have happened at the Power of Partnerships (POP) Event in Richmond, Virginia, at Reimagina Turismo in Santiago, Chile, as well as online through various webinars and workshops.
